When my Boomer husband and I would tootle around town, or around the state, on his Harley Davidson we made a cute couple. He with his Harley Davidson vest, and me with my history text book on his back, and each in a stylin’ Harley Davidson T-Shirt and hat, along with a variety of other Harley Davidson accessories.

One accessory we didn’t have that I so regret is a small and easy to use digital camera.

Back then, digital cameras were just coming out on the market. They’ve “come a long way baby!” They’re fast, take great photos, and are so lightweight and easy to carry. Which means, they’re easy to tuck in to the saddlebags on your sleek and sassy motorcycle.

Where has the year gone? It’s almost Christmas already and definitely time to start the holiday season off with some fun Christmas gift ideas for your favorite Harley guy or gal. And what could be better than one of my favorite gift ideas – Harley Davidson Christmas Gift Baskets. (Hmmm, I can think of two Harley-riding nephews who would love these. :) )

Franklin Mint carries a Harley Davidson line of tree ornaments, collectibles, and decorations as well. For that matter, you can find motorcycle ornaments of all types at just about every store. I have to admit, I love the little snowmen riding motorcycles.

Of course, you probably want to have some bigger gifts in this basket as well. Harley Davidson watches are definitely popular and this would make a big hit, plus fit in the basket quite nicely. That would give you something special and unique just for your “honey.” Unless, that is, your special person is on a mission to collect a Harley Davidson T-Shirt from every place they’ve visited and doesn’t want other areas till they’ve been there. Need Fun Last Minute Father’s Day Gift Ideas? Segway Polo – In Person or By Video!

Segway personal transport vehicle i2I just discovered something fun and new for the whole family that my Harley Davidson-loving husband would have LOVED! Have you ever heard of a Segway? What is that you ask? It’s got several intriguing names including:

  • personal transport vehicle
  • personal transport device
  • human transporter
  • segway scooter
  • 3 wheeled personal transporter

Whatever you prefer to call it, the Segway is a fun way of personal transportation. You’ve probably seen something similar if you’ve been to an airport lately, as many of the police who monitor the front of the airport use them to easily zip around.

I think the Segway transport vehicle is cute and makes long walks much easier for those of us who hate to admit we are aging, but love to brag that we are in the baby boomer generation!

There are even Segway events, like a very cool Segway polo match going on this weekend in Northern California. Started by Steve Wozniak, who was one of the two founders of Apple Computers, it sounds like a very interesting time for the whole family. With Segway personal transporters and riders from various countries competing in Folsom, California at Prairie City Stadium (Folsom High School), your family could enjoy a flavor of the Olympics without all the crowds and expenses! You’ll have to hurry. They’re playing all day today and the final matches are tomorrow, Sunday, June 19, from 2-6 in the afternoon.

Unique Christmas Baskets of Christmas Ornaments-To-Be

WooHoo – it’s the holiday season again and I’m so excited! I love all the holidays, but my absolute favorite time is from the beginning of Autumn through New Year’s Day! Some years I get to do a lot of parties and fancy Christmas decor and some years I don’t, but that’s ok.

I love the music, the lights, the magazines, and even the commercials! And I love to exercise my Grandma Gifts of Love by coming up with cute and creative personalized gifts for all the special people in my life! I love to use them to help create special family memories. Don’t you? :)

This week I put together some unique gift baskets for my grandkids, full of all sorts of goodies they can use to make personalized Christmas ornaments for their parents, their grandparents (yup, that includes me), and for each other! There are markers, crayons, little scissors, plain wooden Christmas ornaments for them to color, foam Christmas tree ornaments, stickers, and pretty gold thread to hang all these works of art when they are finished! I guess you could call them Pre-Christmas gifts. Whatever you call them, they are a lot of fun!

I have the Christmas ornaments baskets all set up in their playroom, ready for them to work on Christmas tree ornaments whenever we have a spare hour here or there. When they come over to visit, I’m planning on making that work area our first stop! Hopefully we will get all our Christmas ornaments done in plenty of time. Then I suspect I will have willing helpers to create even more unique gift baskets for their parents! Full of Christmas ornaments, Christmas cookies, and Christmas love!

And while I’m at it, I’ll be keeping my easy to use Canon Powershot SD880 IS ELPH digital camera, to make sure I get plenty of fun shots full of family memories. Don’t forget to have tons of fun, build your own fun family memories, and take plenty of photos to remember those special times!
