Talkin’ Bout Father’s Day Fun & Grandpa Gifts

Father’s Day. Summer is just beginning. Baseball season is in full swing. Row boats and fishing poles are popping out all over.  There are so many fun things to do with your children including helping them make Father’s Day extra special for their dads and grandpas with a fun Father’s Day gift idea or four.

If your child’s grandfather is as busy as my grandkids’ grandpas are, giving them the gift of fun, exercise, and time alone with the grandkids can be one of the best grandpa gifts around.

Some fun and creative ideas for a Father’s Day date & gifts for grandpa could include:

  • A package of fishing lures and a date with his grandchild to go fishing.
  • A wiffle ball and bat set and a card to say, “Let’s play ball, Grandpa.”
  • One of those great new soft and flexible flying saucers (like Frisbees) or a soft water saucer. Even if the June weather turns cold and rainy, as it often does, his grandkids can bring their gifts for grandpa into the house and play with him there. My grandsons and I have often had a great time getting some fun exercise safely inside while the rain poured outside.
  • If their grandpa has health issues and isn’t able to play active games with your children, how about one of those “My Story” memory books that make such great gifts for grandpa. They can have fun sitting and reading through it. Grandpa can read the questions to the little ones and answer them, while someone writes down the answers quickly, and later transcribes them neatly into the book.

Father’s Day is definitely a day for creative grandpa gifts, and hopefully these Father’s Day gift ideas will get you started on your way to making this an extra special day for all ages, making it a special Holiday Treasure.
